The charity, Southampton Foster Carers’ Association Charity number 1137351, raises money in Southampton to provide special events for children who are unable to live at home with their birth families and who, through no fault of their own, are taken into local authority care.
Although these children are well looked after in their foster placements they can often feel alone in what has happened to them. We use the monies raised to hold social events throughout the year to enable them to meet up with other looked after children and their foster families to show them this is not the case.
These events range from picnics in the park to Christmas parties, with a present from Santa of course and when funds permit, trips to places like Butlins or Chessington World of Adventure. Foster Carers themselves sometimes need support and we aim to be there for them as well. After all Foster Carers make a real difference to the lives of the city’s most vulnerable children.
We as a fostering network have had many events and held a strong relationship with Southampton Football club for many years and we feel that there would be no better venue to host our first big fundraising event.
We are hosting a Charity Gala, at St Marys Stadium on June 17th 2017.
The evening will be an exceptional event, full of entertainment; starting with a champagne reception, followed by comedian- Russ Williams, guest speakers- Matt Le Tissier and friends, auctions, outstanding raffle and a three course meal.
Tickets are £50 each, Tables can be booked and seat 10 per table.
